Why is Japan investing in India?

Why is Japan investing in India?

japan and India are two compatible countries with no historical baggage. Both countries can have faith in each other without any preconceived notions.
Also the two leaders Narendra Modi and Shinzo Abe have a good personal rapport which goes a long way in boosting ties.
Now let us see what both countries can gain from each other:
From India's perspective, Japan is a manufacturing superpower and India is trying to take baby steps into manufacturing. For us, Japan can help us with the initial efforts into the manufacturing sector.
India is planning the diamond quadrilateral and various other bullet train ventures. In this aspect Japan is one of the few countries which can help us setup our bullet train system.
From Japan's perspective, India is a land of vast opportunities. India is abundant in land and population both of which Japan lack. Therefore this is a 'diamond' opportunity for them to invest in India.
India has skilled software engineers which is vital for Japan's growth

Both countries know that they have a lot to benefit from each other and therefore we can see the effort put in by both countries.
